Every AzulejosGoa nameplate is individually hand-painted by a Goan artist using 500-year-old Portuguese Azulejo techniques. Kiln-fired at 1200°C — completely weatherproof, fade-proof, and designed to last a lifetime.

When you order from AzulejosGoa, you are not buying a mass-produced product from a factory catalogue. You are commissioning a one-of-a-kind work of art from an artist who has studied and practised the traditional Portuguese Azulejo technique — the exact same method used since the 16th century in the churches and mansions of Old Goa.
Every nameplate begins as raw earthenware clay and ends as a kiln-fired ceramic tile with your family name permanently fused into the glaze. The cobalt oxide pigments we use don't sit on the surface like printed ink — they are chemically bonded to the ceramic body at 1200°C. This is why our tiles are completely waterproof, fade-proof, and rated for permanent outdoor installation in Indian climate conditions, from Goa's monsoons to Bangalore's tropical heat.
Unlike printed ceramic nameplates (which use digital inkjet technology identical to commercial floor tiles), every AzulejosGoa nameplate has visible brushstrokes, subtle colour variations, and the unmistakable character of genuine handwork. No two tiles are ever identical — that's not a limitation, it's the entire point.
Ordering is simple and personal. You work directly with our artist — no middlemen, no automated forms.

Absolutely. Our ceramic tiles are kiln-fired at 1200°C, making them completely waterproof, fade-proof, and frost-resistant. They are engineered to withstand Indian monsoons, coastal salt air, tropical heat, and harsh UV exposure without any deterioration. Read our complete outdoor installation guide →
Printed tiles use digital inkjet technology — they are mass-produced and every copy is identical. Our nameplates are individually hand-painted by an artist using cobalt oxide and authentic Portuguese glazes. The pigments are fused into the ceramic body at 1200°C, meaning they literally cannot fade. Each piece has subtle brushstrokes and variations that make it unique. Kiln-fired ceramic is the most durable material for outdoor nameplates. Unlike acrylic (which yellows in sun), stainless steel (which stains in coastal areas), or wood (which warps in humidity), ceramic fired at 1200°C is permanently waterproof, UV-resistant, and maintenance-free. Our Azulejo nameplates additionally offer the artistic beauty of hand-painted tile art.
Installation is simple. Use standard white tile adhesive (available at any hardware store) on a clean, flat surface — brick, concrete, painted wall, or gate pillar. Apply adhesive to the back of the tile, press firmly, and allow 24 hours to cure. No drilling required. See our full installation guide →
